Hong Kong amenities with category, bilingual names and coordinates

Also on crescira.com →

Hong Kong points of interest from several sources, one row per amenity record: the Centaline property portal's amenity graph, and Hong Kong government open data — Hospital Authority hospitals, LCSD sports centres and parks, public libraries, Transport Department ferry piers, the Lands Department's iGeoCom GeoCommunity Database (convenience stores, supermarkets, markets, cooked-food stalls, clinics, bus termini, MTR entrances, kindergartens and more) and the FEHD register of licensed restaurants. Near-duplicates across sources are removed, and iGeoCom's several records for one premises collapse to one amenity. Each point carries a category (Transport, Parking, Daily convenience, Food & drink, Health, Education, Recreation), a finer sub_type, bilingual names, WGS84 coordinates and, where the source gives one, a bilingual street address. Pair it with the coordinates in hk_property_buildings to measure what is near a building.

Column Type Description Populated Distinct
category String Amenity category. One of: Transport, Parking, Daily convenience, Food & drink, Health, Education, Recreation — —
sub_type String Finer amenity type on the shared internal taxonomy (mtr, mtr_entrance, bus, ferry, carpark, mall, convenience_store, supermarket, market, restaurant, cooked_food_stall, hospital, clinic, school, kindergarten, park, open_space, playground, library, sports, beach, cinema; grows additively as gov feeds land). mtr = stations, mtr_entrance = station entrances (different proximity grain, kept distinct). — —
name_en Nullable(String) English POI name (NULL when the source carries none) — —
name_zh Nullable(String) Traditional-Chinese POI name (NULL when the source carries none) — —
latitude Nullable(Float64) WGS84 latitude, decimal degrees (Hong Kong sits within 22.1–22.6) — —
longitude Nullable(Float64) WGS84 longitude, decimal degrees (Hong Kong sits within 113.8–114.5) — —
address_en Nullable(String) English street address of the amenity, where the source carries one (iGeoCom for most gov amenities, FEHD for restaurants, Centaline for schools). NULL when the source has no address — the per-feed CSV gov files (hospitals, sports centres, parks, libraries, ferry piers) carry none. — —
address_zh Nullable(String) Traditional-Chinese street address of the amenity, where the source carries one (iGeoCom, FEHD). NULL otherwise. — —
source String Which source supplied this point: 'centaline' (property-portal amenity graph), 'govhk' (Hospital Authority, LCSD, public libraries, Transport Department), 'govhk_fehd' (FEHD restaurant-licence register) or 'govhk_igeocom' (Lands Department iGeoCom GeoCommunity Database) — —
source_id String The point's id within its source — the source's own key where it has one (e.g. a ferry stop id, an iGeoCom GEONAMEID), else an id that stays stable across rebuilds. Unique within source — —
updated_at Nullable(DateTime64(3)) Pipeline build timestamp (UTC): when this point-of-interest snapshot was last assembled, not when the amenity changed — —
id String Stable unique identifier for this row — the last column of every export. Use it to deduplicate, to key an incremental load, or to reference one specific row. It is additive: the entity and join keys you already use (source and source_id) are unchanged. — —
